Unboxing: April GlossyBox vs. BoxyCharm

So this month I thought I would do something a little different.  I am going to compare Glossy to Boxy!  Let's see how they stack up against each other.  Both Boxes are monthly subscription boxes that are $21 a month...

Let's Start With GlossyBox...

The pop art themed box was fantastic!  One of my favorite boxes to get actually.  It is just so cute and girly and the boxes are made so incredibly well!

Julep  Gel Eye Glider in Olive.

The Julep eyeliner in Olive was a bit of a surprise actually
to me.  The formula is smooth and it does stay, but not sure
if I like the green.  I will try it out and let you know!  Color
swatch to the right.

Retail: $16 for full size

This is the Marrakesh Endz: Split End Mender and Preventer.

Made of argan oil, hemp seed oil , & hydrolyzed wheat protien, this is supposed to help damaged split ends and prevent static and well as offer frizz control.  It smells kinda spicy and seems really nice actually.  Pretty excited to try this out.

Retail: $5.99 full size

Estee Lauder Enlighten Dark Spot Correcting Night Serum.

This is supposed to lighten up and even out your skin tone.  Not sure how I feel about this, only because I'm not a huge fan of Estee Lauder, but I will try it and let you know.

Retail: $62.00 full size

Aerin Waterlily Sun.

A really light and pretty fragrance, perfect for spring actually.  It has notes of Sicilian bergamot, lush dewy greens, delicate waterlily, jasmine sambac & warm musk.

I actually really like this fragrance a lot.

Retail: $110.00 full size

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Stain Stained Gloss.

Well this product is definitely interesting.  I have the bright orange version, I think they call it Androgyne.   You can find it here:

To the left is a swatch of it on my hand.  It is bright!

Retail: $18.00 full size

There was a bonus this month in the box, this awesome little makeup bag and mystery discount card from Thursday Friday.  They have some really cute bags and my discount was awesome!  I already picked up my bag to take with me in August to RCR!!!

The box of goodies & the card front and back.  Total for this month...
Roughly about $90.  A few of the products were not full size.
Love the box design this month!

Now onto Boxycharm!

The Entire box of goodies with the card!
Retail for entire box:  $156.90

OFRA Derma Mineral Powder.

Actually a really pretty loose mineral powder that just glides over the skin pretty well.  I was a bit surprised, but I actually will wear this.

Retail: $35

Vincent Longo Duo Lip Pencil.
Maple (L)  & Spring Rose (R)

The colors are actually pretty versatile and I have used them with pinks, mauves, browns, nudes, & even reds.  So this is one of my favorite things in the box!

Retail: $26

Harvey Prince Mini Roller Fragrance Hello.

I love love love this fragrance, even more so than the one in Glossy.  It is so crisp and clean.
Notes: Meyer lemon, white grapefruit, Satsuma mandarin, summer forsythia, pink plumeria, wild verbena, Tahitian vanilla, & sensual musk.

Retail: $21

 Coolway Smoothing Lotion.

Hair products seem to be a real thing with the box subscriptions.  I guess I am going to have to care more about
This is just a lotion that is packed with vitamins to smooth and control your hair from frizz.

Retail: $24.95

Coastal Scents Revealed 2 Palette.

This was the last thing in the box and I was on the fence about this until I opened it up.  I just had gotten the first Revealed palette in January, but this one features a lot of the purples that the first palette didn't.  The first palette was much more muted and natural, this one is a little richer in color.

Retail: $39.95

Final thoughts....

Both boxes were lovely, but Boxycharm did it better this month.  There was only one mini in the whole box and that was the perfume, whereas, there were a few in Glossybox.  Glossy had the amazing box art & the discount card and makeup bag bonus.

Both are amazing subscription boxes, just depends on what you prefer.

*I do not get these boxes gratis, these are both paid subscriptions.*
