My Review:

For those of you who don't know I have a love for this author.  It didn't start that way.  Hell's Knight from Bella Jewel's The MC Sinner's Series, was one of my least favorite biker books.  Not that it was a bad story, because it wasn't, it was just very tame.  That being said, the rest of the series was amazing.

Now onto this gem.  I LOVE this book!  I didn't think you could do a modern day take on a pirate story, but not only can you do it, you can make it so good that it's impossible to put down.  I read this book from the opening to the end in a little over 3 hours.  I cannot tell you how much I love it.  It is a lighter book than you might imagine, which seems to be Bella's writing style.  A style I have learned to appreciate more and more.

Hendrix is a mystery.  I hope we learn more about him as the series continues.  He is gorgeous and sexy and well aware of his male magnetism.  When he happens upon Indigo & her best friend Eric, he is faced with a rather tough choice, give the girl away as payment for a past due debt owed to another pirate, or keep her for himself.  He tries, without much success, to keep his distance.  But Indigo has him spinning.

Indigo is a mess.  Her story starts out terrifying.  She has been abused and nearly killed by her former boyfriend, which she had to shoot and then run away from.  So she decides to take her bestie, Eric, for a boat trip that is supposed to relocate her in London.  With a fire on the yacht they rented they are unable to stay on the boat and end up floating into Hendrix's path.

I must say the sex scenes are delicious and there are definitely a ton of stories I want to see come out of this series.  One downside, Eric is a serious pansy.  I wanted Hendrix to feed him to the fishes on more than one occasion.  =)

I give this novel 4 lipsticks!  Steamy and fun, a little dark at first, but all around good fun!

Excerpt:

“You, girl, look at me.”

Oh God, he’s talking to me. Hot tears fill my eyes and I slowly raise

my head. What I expect to see, and what I actually see, are two very

different things. It takes me a solid moment to realize that the man I

am looking at is actually a pirate. In my head, I had an image of an old,

smelly man…but him…oh…he’s breathtaking. Even in my fear, I can’t

move my eyes from him. It’s impossible to look away. It’s impossible to

believe that somebody that looks like him would be in a place like this.
