My Review:

It needs to be said that I love Dawn Martens.  I have loved every book she has put out.  I really liked this one, but I felt it went fast.  Like really fast.  I loved the story, I just wish there was more of it.

Jase and Julie were the perfect high school sweethearts.  Their love was one that every young girl dreams about.  Falling for the star football player and being the girl no one really paid attention to, Julie sees forever with the boy she loves.  But like a lot of young romance Jase makes a really bad decision because his life has been touched by tragedy.  Although it costs him the only girl he has ever loved, he continues to spiral out of control.

After Julie leaves Jase she heads into a life that is rather disturbing.  She is married to a powerful and wealthy doctor who is a really really bad person.  Julie, her daughter, and her sister in law Bethany get out when a beating goes too far.  But going back to Jase and his family is going to be very painful emotionally and she has a lot of explaining to do.

I loved the story.  Let me be very clear about that.  I just wish it didn't feel so rushed.  I felt like the relationship with Matty wasn't fleshed out and that there was something that was definitely there, more than a friendship.  I know everyone is mad at Jase for how things ended but it had been 9 years and still there were over the top mad.  Kristen seemed to blow her stack a lot for reasons I clearly don't understand.  There was just so much more to explore.  Maybe in the next book there will be more answers.

I give this book 3.75 lipsticks...=)

Dawn Martens: I'm Dawn. I co-wrote a two books (Chase and Kade) with fellow author Chantal Fernando, in the Resisting Love. We went solo on three of the books, she wrote Ryder, and she is writing James, and I just finished writing Derek.
I drink too much, Swear too much, and Read too much. Yes I read too much. I don't have a filter, and I tend to speak before I think.
I'm a beta reader for many authors, I'm on a few authors ARC list, because apparently I'm THAT awesome. ;) And I also Edit. Not a professional, but I do help a few with that.
I have two children, 5&2, and have another on the way. They bug the shit outta me, but hey, that's what kids are supposed to do. ;) Married since 2007. He's amazing, but he's also a bigger pain in my ass than my kids are.
I love to read. and I love being able to write stories that *I* want to read!
I couldn't do this without the help of some very special friends!

I'm Emily.  I am the proud mother of two lovable but irritating teenagers. I have been married for over twenty years, but I would gladly trade my husband for Tatum Jackson any day!
If you are wondering who that is, you need to read Sweet Dreams by KA now. Kristen Ashley is my queen!
I love to read.  I am a complete mommy porn junkie!  I have more books on my kindle than most people could read in a lifetime, but I will get to them all eventually!
I am also an avid blogger.  I love to share my favorite books and pimp my favorite authors.
I just finished writing my first solo book, Windows.  I hope you all enjoy it!
