Until The Sun Falls From The Sky (The Three #1) Review

Leah Buchanan’s family has been in service to vampires for five centuries. Even so, Leah wants nothing to do with her family’s legacy but when she’s summoned to her Selection by the Vampire Dominion, under familial pressure, she has no choice but to go.

Lucien has been living under the strict edicts of the Vampire Dominion for centuries but he’s tired of these ancient laws stripping away everything that is the essence of the vampire.

So he’s taking it back.

And this is because Lucien has also been watching and waiting for decades for Leah to become available for a Selection and he will not be limited with what he can do with her. He will have her, all of her.

Therefore, Lucien is going to tame Leah, even if he gets hunted and killed for doing it.

What neither Leah nor Lucien expects is the strong bond that will form between them, connecting them on unprecedented levels for mortals or immortals. And what will grow between them means they will challenge their ways of life and their union will begin the Prophesies which makes them one of three couples who will save humanity… or die in the effort.

Leah and Lucien....what can I say about these two unlikely lovers?  Oh yeah...their story made me love paranormal romance!

Leah Buchanan is a smart ass, fearless forty year old who sorta acts like she is a teenager still caught up in her teenage angst.  She is born into a family of women who are concubines for the vampires in her area.  Her family holds a lot of prestige and honor because of their service.  Her mother actually holds the record for being kept by a vampire for the longest period of time.  Leah, however, could not be less interested in servicing a vampire.

Lucien is the vampire.  He is powerful, sexy, dangerous, and will stop at nothing to finally have Leah.  Even if that means forcing her to sign the blood contract.  Which of course he does.  He has been waiting for her for decades and now he will break every single rule the vampire council has to have her the way he wants her.  Leah doesn't stand a chance.  But that doesn't mean she makes it easy for him.

There are times in this book that I wanted to see Leah give in a little, or Lucien to be a little more gentle.  Their first night, when he feeds on her for the first time, is brutal.  He promises to never hurt her, and he loses control.  Control that quite frankly he is known for.  But Leah tends to push Lucien's buttons at every turn.  In fact she is exceptionally good at it.  Like most of Kristen Ashley's heroines, she refuses to give in and take an easy path.

Lucien is breaking rules that could end up costing him and Leah their lives.  He takes her as a lover, which is a no no.  He ends his bond with his vampire wife, which as you might imagine, doesn't go so well.  He wants to bond with Leah which is against the council rules.  So much so, that she can be hung and he can be burned for it.  And although his family is on board for the most part, his father is ridiculously cruel to Leah.  And as we will eventually see, hurts her emotionally to upset and hurt Lucien.

But like all beautiful love stories, these two crazy people fall in love.  They bond, and they become inseparable.  So much so that the laws in the council change.  Lucien means so much to them that they actually allow humans & vampires to bond again.  With the famous words.....Until the Sun Falls from the Sky.....

I give this 5 lipsticks.  I brought me to a new love for paranormal romance, one I hold dear to my heart.
