Fire Inside (A Chaos Novel #2) Review

Lanie Heron isn't looking for love—no surprise, considering her last serious relationship nearly got her killed. So when Lanie propositions Hop Kincaid, all she wants is one wild night with the hot-as-hell biker who patrols with the Chaos Motorcycle Club...

For Hop, Lanie has always been untouchable. She’s too polished and too classy for his tastes. But when she gives Hop the once-over with her bedroom eyes and offers him a night in paradise, he can’t say no. And he doesn't regret it when he finds that Lanie is the best thing that’s ever happened to him—in or out of bed. Now the trick will be to convince her of that.

Absolutely the best Alpha male that Kristen Ashley has ever come up with.  Hopper Kincaid is amazing in ever single way.  And Lanie Heron is a complete and wonderful loon!  This was exactly what I was hoping for when I got to open this book up for the first time.  It is brilliant.

Lanie is a character we were introduced to in Motorcycle Man during the Dream Man Series.  We saw her go through some crazy and scary as hell things with her then fiance Elliot.  Elliot should have been named Idiot instead, smart but looking for the easy route, he nearly gets Lanie killed.  Lanie, we learn, is completely loyal and dedicated to someone when she loves them.  She was dedicated to Tyra and she was so dedicated to Elliot that she nearly died for him.  As sad as it is to say this, he was the one to die, and she ended up the better for it.

At the same time we were also introduced to Hopper Kincaid.  Although Hop was not a huge focus point of the book, he did have a moment with Tyra that was sort of cringe worthy.  And actually that moment made me a bit reluctant to read this book.  But as with all things Kristen Ashley, things are not what they always appear to be.  And there was more to the story than I could have imagined.  His ex wife was such a bad person, that I am not even sure you could call her human.  To do what she did, and Hop still want to try to make things work with her, pretty much makes me think he is running for sainthood.

Hop and Lanie try the no strings attached thing for a while, and as you might imagine, that doesn't work out so well.  There were so many quotes in this story that I loved.  But to hear Hop tell Lanie that class doesn't get on her knees, and it is only their second hook up, was probably right there at the top.  He is a complete sweetheart.  And I was wrong about dreading this story.  It was amazing!

We learn so many things about both characters.  The perfection we thought we saw in Lanie when we first met her, is questioned by learning about her family.  She may have money and look and brains, but the girl has a story as well.  One that I think makes her the most interesting of the heroines in all of KA's stories.  Hop isn't who I first imagined he was either.  He is a killer dad and a great lover.  But most importantly a great man.  And apparently, according to some, he is a hottie too!

Without a doubt my new favorite of the Kristen Ashley books!  Go get this when it comes out on June 4th!  It was a happy early bday present to me!

I give this 5 lipsticks!
