Uncle Ed's Lap Review

Fiona volunteers to help her recently widowed uncle get his house in order before starting her freshman year of college. Uncle Ed and aunt Carole are two of her favorite people in the world. While trying to help her grieving uncle, she doesn't expect her school girl crush to turn into a torrid affair, but it does. She doesn't expect him to want her at all, but he does, more than he can handle. And as her uncle struggles with the thoughts of wanting and having his niece in so many ways, Fiona struggles to show him that it's all okay. That she's not a little girl any more. This book contains explicit sex and language, incest, spanking, shades of erotic asphyxiation, bondage and elements of non-consent.

I have to be honest when I say, that when I first started this novel I was a little skeptical on whether or not I would enjoy it.  It is a very different read than anything I have read before.  If there was a novel that was going to make me uncomfortable it would be this one.  Fiona calls Ed "Uncle" all the time.  And to be honest, at first, it really bugged me.  As I kept reading though, it became a turn on.

Some crazy parts of the novel come when Fi ends up acting like her recently deceased aunt and tries to help her uncle get over her by blowing him while wearing her aunts pearls.  It should be noted that as disturbing as this happens to sound, it is a rather beautiful scene in the book.  Fi and Ed have a very adult to child relationship even with it being sexual.  It doesn't feel like a dominant/submissive relationship.

A few things really did bother me.  Even knowing how young Fiona is, I still felt that she was wicked childish in this.  Very Lolita in feel.  And that is probably what Parker Ford was going for.  But for some reason, when she acted out like that I found it hard to appreciate the intensity of her feelings.

The next thing that sorta bugged me was how angry Ed would get.  I realize he is conflicted and going through heartbreak, but he seemed unusually angry about his feelings for Fiona.  It also sorta freaked me out that he admitted to wanting her for years.  Given she is just becoming a freshman in college this sounds very very pedophile to me.  But damn if it also wasn't super sexy!

It's a quick read.  A really good one.  Just try to get past the whole niece/uncle thing.

I give this 4 lipsticks!
