Real Review

A fallen boxer.
A woman with a broken dream.
A competition…

He even makes me forget my name. One night was all it took, and I forgot everything and anything except the sexy fighter in the ring who sets my mind ablaze and my body on fire with wanting…

Remington Tate is the strongest, most confusing man I’ve ever met in my life.

He’s the star of the dangerous underground fighting circuit, and I’m drawn to him as I’ve never been drawn to anything in my life. I forget who I am, what I want, with just one look from him. When he’s near, I need to remind myself that I am strong–but he is stronger. And now it’s my job to keep his body working like a perfect machine, his taut muscles primed and ready to break the bones of his next opponents . . .

But the one he’s most threatening to, now, is me.

I want him. I want him without fear. Without reservations.

If only I knew for sure what it is that he wants from me?

This book is absolutely phenomenal!  I didn't really know what to expect, especially since I am not a big MMA fighter fan.  This book was completely out of my comfort zone when it came to what the hero was like and what he was into.  Is he Alpha male EVERY single possible way.  Is he able to be loving and sweet and gentle despite being someone who nearly beats other men to death?  Without question!  Remington Tate  is delicious.  He has a few umm quirks, but he is my ideal perfect MMA fighter hero (If I were to have one, that is)!

Brooke is a normal healthy girl.  We don't see this often.  Either our heroines are ridiculously independent and it feels like our heroes have to break them, or they are needy little girls who are super clingy and do as they are told from day one.  Brooke questions things and it makes her fantastic in every way.  She is smart, beautiful, funny and dedicated.  A normal young woman trying to make her way in life after having experienced a heartbreak of her own.  As a former athlete myself who has suffered an injury I can tell you, this was hard to read and harder to hear how she knows she has no choice but to move forward and give up that dream.

Together they are so in love.  But like any true love story, they have to go through the sparring match that is love to find that they are both on the same side.  Absolutely and positively a wonderful process to see happen.  The fact that Remy has a quirk (for lack of a better term) is just a bonus.  Seeing Brooke having to soothe his muscles and his heart is what makes this read so much fun.  Brooke's insanely powerful pull to Remington is beautiful to watch.  Remington's need to possess Brooke is intoxicating.

If I had to mention something I dislike it would be this.  The side story of Brooke and her sister Nora is not fully fleshed out.  She is barely mentioned in the beginning of the book and the middle, even though Nora is in serious trouble, Brooke who cares about her seems to be almost nonchalant about the whole thing.  Remy seems to care more at times in my opinion.  I just felt that this was almost a afterthought in the story.

Brooke's best friend Mel is so damn funny and honestly at times the perfect comic relief.  I have a friend that is so like her it's scary!  The team that works with Remington are great characters with a lot of heart and love for him.  Really an all around great cast of people.

I give this a 5 lipstick rating because, really, how can you not?
