Lady Luck Review

Ty Walker was wrongly imprisoned and for the five years he was inside, he honed his plan so when he gets out, he has nothing but vengeance on his mind.

But then he walks straight to stylish, leggy, beautiful, goofy Lexie Berry and he suddenly has something else to think about. He knows within seconds he wants her and within days he can love her but with the filth that was flung at him clinging; he also knows he can’t have her.

Since birth, Lexie Berry has been Lady Luck’s favorite toy and because of that, Lexie is cautious. But within a day, she senses Ty is something special. With her luck, however, she can’t trust it. Then she finds out what was done to Ty and she’s willing to do anything to make it right.

Even what Ty will never forgive her for doing.

Ty clings to vengeance and Lexie goes all out to give him back the time he lost. But Ty is battling demons within and they’re up against dirty cops and criminals who will stop at nothing to sway Lady Luck against them. All Ty and Lexie have is hope Lady Luck will finally swing their way.

Ah....the Colorado Mountain Series.  I love this series.  It was actually the first series I read of Kristen Ashley's.  I started with Max & Nina's story The Gamble.  So by the time I got to this one, the third in the series, I was already well introduced to the town of Carnal.  This is my favorite of the four books.  Now let me tell you why.

Ty Walker.  He is without a doubt one of the premier men in the KA Alpha collection!  Gorgeous, quiet, kind, dominant, sexy as hell.  Ty has had a bit of bad luck for the last 5 years.  He was framed for a crime he didn't commit.  I felt for him, being a man who was framed due to the color of his skin, and his ability to win at poker.  But Ty is amazing for other reasons too.  He is without a doubt closed off and guarded, but in the way KA writes him, she still manages to make him seem amazingly compassionate and deep.  Someone who isn't just about vengeance but about putting his life back together and allowing himself to love and be loved in return.  Enter Lexie.

Lexie Berry is fantastic.  She is a bright light (something Ty refers to a lot) in a dark world.  She comes with her own demons and her own insecurities, but somehow is able (almost immediately with Ty) to let love in.  She takes a huge gamble on a man she really doesn't know and just goes with how she feels.  All heart and soul with this girl, there is no in between.  She is a bit goofy and a bit girly, but she is delightful and fun all around.  The way she loves Ty makes her one of my favorite KA heroines.

When I read Lady Luck the first time, I immediately was so immersed into the story that I couldn't put it down.  I found I loved the interaction between Ty & Lexie, that even when they were fighting with each other, I could sense that at the end of all of this there would be a happily ever after vibe.  Ty can, without question, be a complete and utter ass.  He hurts Lexie more than once and at times I wanted to choke him out.  And Lexie can be a bit over sensitive.  She knows what she is dealing with and I think sometimes expects more from Ty than she should.  But true love always prevails!  This was no exception.

There is a lot of story in the book, and you see friends and allies come together and help clear Ty's name, which is totally awesome.  You see them embrace Lexie and we see both main characters forgive their pasts to move forward.  Let me just say though, the cops in this story (not all of them) are complete jerks!  I really did love this book.  And Kristen Ashley has announced a 5th book coming to the series sometime this year!  Can't wait to read it!

I give this 4 lovely lipsticks....what can I's  KA novel!
